Hi! I've had a couple of friends go through the FSCJ and SJR State programs and I didn't hear anything negative about either. So, you should be good either way. I just did a tour of the nursing lab/classroom in Orange Park last Friday and it was pretty informative. If you have any questions I can share what info I do know.
When will you find out if you've gotten into the FSCJ program?
They didn't have any definite schedule days/times yet for fall start. Based on current info they said you could probably expect to be in the classroom from 9-3:30 or 4ish Monday-Thursday during the first semester. Clinicals will start in first semester and sign-ups for Clinical sites will be based on a wish list. You may or may not get your chosen site. The first semester clinicals will be LTC facilities, and hours are usually 6:30am-4pm. Again, none of that is definite but is generally how it has been in the past. They were pretty helpful and willing to answer questions!
I will be applying to Fall! :)
I called the orange park campus and asked how the schedule might be. A lady in the nursing department told me Mon-Thurs. 8:30-4:30 and occasional Friday clinicals.
My cousin mentioned that they rotate each semester between Palatka and Orange park? This would be interesting to know.
