Hi, I'm a single mom of three ages 11,7 and 4. I'm origanally from Philly, I now live in Delaware, so I'm not that far from family. I want to eventually relocate to the south, I thought I would give it a try with travel nursing. I have a few questions. How is it to travel with kids, I would like to stay in the same area for atleat a year? Would it be easier if I just relocated and found full-time employment? My first choice is Atlanta, do anyone have an idea of what areas are best for kids and schools in Atlanta?
I'm open to all suggestions.
Thanks for any advice

Be sure you consider child care. Most travel assignments are for 12 hour shifts, and you'll probably have to work every other weekend- so your kids will need child care for those days when you have to work and they don't have school. Many daycares have looooong waiting lists- so it might be difficult to find a new child care provider if you're moving around a lot.....

I have no kids, so no advice there, except to ask your kids how they would feel about moving that often. I have friends who travel with their 2 kids. they alternate shifts so someone is always with kids. One has done well, the other is miserable...
As far as staying "at least a year" on a travel contract, after a year you are not considered a traveller by the Government, so you would loose any tax free benefits at that time.
Best Wishes.
