Single mom about to venture into travel nursing...

Published

It has always been my passion to travel. My son will be 8 1/2 years old when we embark on the experience as a traveling nurse. My first destination is NYC. I have lived in NYC before and loved it there. My plan is to get a travel nursing assignment there and then settle there for a year before moving to my next destination. So while my traveling gig pays for my first 3 months in NYC, I will find a great place/location to live that will allow for safety for my son and I, allows him to go to a good school and a year of adventure and exploration for us. When I find that it's time for our next destination, I will once again pick a travel assignment to our next destination that will allow us to explore another city or even another continent. I plan to change locations during my sons summer breaks so that his school year is not interrupted. I honestly am not sure how all this will work out, but it would be great to hear from someone who have experience living in different places as a nurse but more importantly as a single mother. What are some of the difficulties and is it possible? I have many reservations but I also believe that somehow everything works out when one follow ones heart and greatest desire. So if anyone reads this and can share their experience, I would absolutely appreciate it.
