Hi all! I was just inducted into Sigma Theta Tau. I was wondering- curious here; do you have to keep your grades above a 3.0 to stay in.... OR once you are in and pay your dues, are you a member for life?? Say my grades drop to a 2.8 or something (I have a 3.5 now), will they kick me out? Once I am in, as long as I pay my dues, am I in for life??
Thanks!!! Epona

Hi there and congratulations!
From the STT website:
"How long will I be considered a member of Sigma Theta Tau International?
You are a member for life after you have been inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International. You must pay annual membership fees to receive most member benefits and publications. "
So once you're in, you're in. And you don't have to pay your dues to be a member. You only have to pay your dues if you want to be an "active" member, which gets you the magazine and other benefits.
Hope that answers your question!
Hi there! That is fantastic!! THANK YOU for filling me in on that. Glad to know I will be a member for life. :)
Thank you again!!
You're welcome!
It's good to know you can always put it on your resume, right?

SFSN is right on the money. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau and was on the Board of my chapter for years. Big complaint was members who are inducted and no longer pay their dues. But once a member, always a member whether you pay your dues or not.
