Can ketones cause false positive?

Nurses Recovery

I've been following a low carb diet recently, and the goal is to get into ketosis, measured by using Ketostix. I have been selected to test today, option 1. Is it possible that if I have ketones in my urine because of the low carb diet, that it will somehow read positive for alcohol? I vaguely remember reading something like this but I can't find a definitive answer. I may be eating a candy bar here in a few minutes!

Well I'm starting a low carb regime today. I gotta lose some weight and this has always worked for me in the past. The stress of my last semester of DNP studies (CAPSTONES are an evil, evil thing), going back to the ER after a year, and a half, working with the ex and an affinity for ice crème have turned me into a fat tub of goo. I'll keep you all informed here as I feel you guys here are my only real support group. Have a great day!!!
