U.S.A. Georgia

Okay....it's not much of a dilemma but it's something to think about. I live in a small town in Ga & I'm currently awaiting to recieve my nursing license (lpn). There are NOT many positions avail in my town or surrounding counties for a lpn. Now, Ive had my eye on Atlanta for a while now & there are bookoo's of pos. avail for lpn's. I really want to hop up & go to Atlanta but I also have 2 little ones to think about. I would also like to return to school for my Rn but the thing is I would like to attend a tech school b/c I've found one not far from my town who offers a ADN program. Now I would like to know what any of you suggest & are they're any tech schools in Atlanta that offer the sAme thing.

Try Gwinnett Tech, West georgia tech, Georgia perimeter college, gordan state college, and georgia highlands college. Hope this helps

Thx, Ill look into those colleges.

Hey Greenlight,

I'm not to familiar with the GA area, but I'm a new grad RN. Have you looked into accelerated BSN programs? My friends who have ADNs are having a much harder time finding a job then the ones with BSNs - I think it will be even harder in the next few years. I started nursing school at a small community college for my ADN, but transferred to a different school for my BSN. Both programs were rough, summer classes, night courses, long clinical, but I actually graduated a semester earlier than my friends in the ADN program.

I know Emory and Georgia State have accelerated BSN programs, but I'm sure there are more around Atlanta.

Just throwing that out there for something to take into consideration. Congrats on becoming an LPN, I'm sure your kids are very proud :)
