Should I retake the teas

Published

I'm applying for the nursing program at capital community college and they grade the program 25% teas 25%anatomy score and 50% gpa I have like a 3.1 with a 84 in anatomy and a 60% on teas test I might get picked through the lottery system or go on the wait list should I take the teas again and try to get a 70%? It wouldn't really increase my over all by that much if I get a 70% as you can see someone told me my scores are enough but I don't know what to do

Well, you have a couple of options. The first option is to simply wait and see whether or not you get in. I am not familiar with the school you mentioned and am not sure when they accept students (each semester, once a year, a couple years out). If you are able to get in without spending extra money then I always say that is the way to go.

The second option you have is to retake some of the classes to help boost your GPA or take another class that fulfills the same requirement to get a higher grade. I am not sure if this is permitted, but with 50% of your points coming from that, it would have the most impact.

Lastly, you could also retake the TEAS like you said, but do everything you can do get more than 70% if at all possible (80s/90s). I am not sure if your school gives you points based off of your performance or if you simply pass or not.

Meet with an adviser to go over your application to be safe and plan accordingly. Best wishes!
