Should I retake the hesi?

Nursing Students HESI

Published

Hello!

I took my Hesi exam today for the first time and scored 81%. My gpa is currently about 3.7. Should I consider retaking the exam or is this score okay?

Please and thanks!

Depends on your program. Personally I'd retake it. My program required at least 85% but competitive was over 90%.

For my school 80% was good..ask some current nursing students at your school What they scored and go from there

Same here. I finished my HESI yesterday. Got 85 as accumulated scores. But my critical thinking is only 770. English is my second language so this test make me feel exhausted. I applied ut houston, I know the competition is horrible there. I do not know how to prepare the critical thinking section. Because I never studied it before. Forget to say, my GPA is around 3.88-3.96. Who can tell me if I should retake it? I have 15 days to prepare for the second.

The trick is uthsc only takes the latest score not the highest score. You have to make sure the second test is better than the first anyhow. Or else, you will have to cry.

This what I heard. 80-89 gives you 3 extra points towards entering the nursing program. 90-100 gives you 5 extra points. I'm trying to re-find the site that told me this. I scored a 90% and want to know the same thing. Should I bother re-taking the exam or not. Good luck!!

OMG I have the exact same HESI score and GPA right now LOL! I’ve been doing some research and I came across this post. I know this was so long ago, but did u end up getting in? I’m also wondering if I need to retake it.
