Should I Even Try To Apply?

Hi,

I am new to allnurses so let me know if this isn't the correct format. Currently, I am a pre-nursing student and I have taken 24 credits-all the basic stuff; comm 101, english 101 and 102, math 130, social sciences, you get the point. I took a semester off and now I am taking human biology and math 140, I am taking the math as a pre req for statistics. I am thinking of applying for my community colleges RN program in august. I will have my pre reqs almost done by then as I am taking microbiology during the summer (stats isn't a pre req for our program). The only two I haven't done are A&P 1&2. I know there would be a very very slim chance I would get in, but I thought it doesn't hurt to try? I thought that when I do apply the 2nd time that they would see my name again and maybe that would help? What do you guys think? I haven't taken the teas yet so any advice and info would be great, thanks.

Also, I forgot to add my college requires 750 hours of patient care, I recently became a cna and so I will be hitting that mark past august but I work 32 hours a week and am considering working at either the hospital in town or the advanced care hospital.

It depends on the requirements of the program. Are you supposed to have a certain number of the science prereqs completed before applying? I know some require all to be completed from time of application while some allow you to apply without having one or two science classes done as long as they are completed before the start of the program. If you fit within the requirements of the program, I don't think it would hurt to apply. However, if you don't, then I wouldn't apply because it might show badly on you.
