I am graduating from my MSN FNP program in May 2023 and I just got engaged. Yay! Only all my professors have been saying to not change your name after graduating but before taking your boards because the board of nursing may not recognize your degree/getting credentialed could be much more difficult. I am looking for advice from anyone who has gotten married either before or after graduating from NP school and when I should change my name. We discussed possibly getting eloped soon and changing my name before graduation but I figured someone on here might have some advice!

Congrats on the engagement! Changing your name will always be challenging as it is expensive and time-consuming. I know many nurses who kept their maiden names due to this. If you are set on wanting to change your name and are considering eloping, I suggest doing that.
