Should i go straight for the 4 year degree?

Is it possible to do a BSN in nursing in 36 months?

i'm halfway through a degree in business but i no longer want to pursue this field. I know there are many programs that offer an accelerated BSN to those with bachelors degrees already, but i'm not a candidate for these programs

I just finished giving advice to someone also who is in their 3rd year of college and wants to switch to nursing. I'll tell you what I told her. Finish your degree since you're close to being done and also apply to an Accelerated BSN. You probably know that the Accelerated BSN programs run about 12-15 months. I know a couple of people who will be graduating this December and will be starting an Accelerated BSN in January. Make sure you have taken the prerequisites needed for the program if you want to start soon after graduation.

Wish you luck.

thanks for the reply.

I dont think it is worth finishing my current degree. I'm only about 60 credits in....with only two accounting courses actually done (my major is/was accounting)

I would tell you then to make the switch. You can declare your major your Junior year. Also, I'm not sure what the requirements are for a Nursing program, whether it be a 2 year or 4 year program. From reading other threads, I see that either there is a long waiting list for the 2 year programs or the 4 year programs have tougher requirements.

I plan on going into an Accelerated program and in my area, based on GPA alone, the Accelerated programs require lower GPAs and few requirements as opposed to the 4 year BSN programs, which start at a higher GPA and tougher requirements.
