I'm sorry to hear that!! That really sucks to say the least! Are there any other private colleges that you can apply to? Have you gone to the BON website to look for other schools?? Here is a link hon: http://www.azbn.gov/Documents/education/Nursing%20Programs/Nursing%20Programs%20List.03.28.11.pdf
I've been totally turned off by the whole private school system...I really got screwed with Grand Canyon University and that was SUPPOSE to be the most amazing school in Arizona until they sold out to the Apollo group without informing ANY of the enrolled students! I just don't want to risk my education any further because a school decides to do something stupid which I can't prevent. GOD THIS SUCKS!

Yah, that does suck.. I've never heard of a college actually being bought by another without letting anyone know! Especially since it's a "group" and not at least an actual school. When I went to Loyola University..there was a small all girls college next door...Loyola eventually bought it..but everyone knew...that stuff is in the paper and whatnot! Have you tried contacting whoever the school was accredited under to see about other options? I dunno hon...that's just horrible!!
I know how you feel =/. The state school I'm currently at is super super competitive and a 3.6 GPA won't cut it at any of the state schools here. Even if you retake classes to boost your GPA they still take the students who didn't have to retake classes (they only let in around 24 a year). The private schools aren't as competitive but are super expensive and some of them have had problems with NCLEX pass rates. It sucks.
Your best bet might be to just get on the waiting list at a community college and in the mean time search for a different program. You can always fall back on the community college and get your BSN after you graduate. I know it sucks waiting for 2 years though, I had a lot of friends who had to do that...I'll probably end up at my community college, but they have a good program and since I have a ton of university credits I'll only have to take 6 more credits (online) to have my BSN when I finish.
Hang in there! I know how you feel, if I had majored in anything else I'd be golden but nursing is just sooo competitive these days.

I'm seriously up a creek and at a loss of what to do. I was enrolled in a local private college that SUPPOSEDLY had a good BSRN program however just as I was finishing my pre-reqs and was getting ready to apply for their nursing school everything went down the tubes. The school suddenly partnered up with publicly traded groups and even got sued for 15 MILLION BUCKS!!!! When they started firing teachers and began having their accreditation go under review I decided that it wasn't worth loosing ALL my classes so I grabbed my transcript and ran...turns out I did the right thing so at least that was good...
Now I'm between a rock and a hard place...I am 23 years old and have finished literally ALL pre-reqs for all the state nursing school programs however since the state schools are so competitive my only option is to sit on a 2 year wait list at the community college level!!! I already have a paramedic certification and several other certifications but they don't help me AT ALL and I didn't work SO HARD at these pre-req classes to get paid $9 a hour
I just want my education. I'm learning disabled and I went through hell and back to push through this and I am at a loss for what to do...
Suggestions??? I live in Phoenix Arizona I am willing to go ANYWHERE that will take me right away so I can get this crap over with and I have a 3.6 GPA (still not enough of any of the state schools).
