Oh, didn't read the rest of your post. Yes, you should specify the type of hospital, unit, & type of pt. I focused on the fact that cardiac surgery pt's are at times super unstable and difficult to manage when describing my unit on my resume. The tough part is describing it in 2 or 3 sentences!
As far as a personal statement, every school wants something different. So pay close attention to what they are asking for.
I have shadowed for a total of 44 hours, so I incorporated it into my CV as experience. I also mentioned it in my goal statement as a part of what I have done to prepare myself for this endeavor. I have been asked about it specifically in two interviews and had the opportunity to elaborate, so any way you go--it will be addressed.

Hi All,
I know this may seem like stupid questions, I am really concern.
1)How did you incorporate the fact that you have shadowed a CRNA into your application. Was it by mentioning in your personal statement, resume or you only mentioned during the interview?
2) In your resume did you specify type of unit, type of Hospital (e.g. level 1 trauma center) or keep it open for them to figure out.
3) what do you include in a personal statement?
Thanks in advance
