Hey there! I did my master's project/preceptorship in Labor and Delivery at a SF hospital. I also did the AWHONN intro to fetal heart rate monitoring course online. It was $70.
Previous to nursing school, I worked almost two years for a perinatal education department also at a hospital in SF. Played a huge role in terms of picking my specialty. Best of luck to you.
Sounds awesome...I volunteer as a doula currently but don't have any preceptorship or residency experience in perinatal....so I was feeling discouraged about applying to SFGH since it seems like all the questions asked on the app were about any experience I already/currently had in the field (and I didn't see any place to add in my doula experience)...
I too did the Intro to Fetal Heart Monitoring, as well as the NRP, mainly because I saw that the app asked about those in particular and those were all I could actually do something about!
Is this for the perinatal training program or just an open job? I'm interested in applying to the training program once my temp (and permanent) license is endorsed.
I completed the fetal heart course and now working on the NRP.
Curious as well how long it takes to hear anything. From reading the position it sounds like it's a rolling admission as spots open.
Would love to hear from anyone who went through it as well! Thanks!
I know this is an old post but I interviewed recently for this same training program. It was about ten questions they asked mostly presenting a scenario and asking what would you do type of questions. There is also a drug dosage test. I have heard good things about this training so I am hoping for the best!! Hope it helps a little.
