Hello, all!
I am at the point where I'm looking to my future in nursing. Or, maybe, out of nursing. All my life I've drifted back to the idea of psychology and/or counseling in one way or the other. And I'm talking from the age of eight, this was a dream. Now after nearly five years in the ICU (I know, I know... not that long) I'm looking at what I want life to be and a bedside ICU nurse is not it.
I'm wanting to - ultimately - land as a sex/relationship (ideally for lgbtq, cis/nonbinary/trans individuals) counselor. I am trying to figure out the best course. Do I continue on and get my DNP and specific certifications... do I go specifically for Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner... do I switch academic gears and get a masters in social work and then certifications from there?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalp! Any and all ideas and recommendations are welcome. Thank you in advance!
