senior SRNA looking for jobs in other states

Specialties CRNA

Published

hi all

i'm a senior SRNA student currently in WI, but looking to relocate to....well, we have a few 'regions' of the US picked out. just wondering what's the best way to go about job hunting in other states, as it seems by the time you see a posting online (ie. gaswork.com, etc) they are already taken or needing someone quickly, or there's a reason it's on there. i've started by emailing the president of the state ANA (in those states i'm interested in) but they often aren't involved in that stuff, unless it's a less populated state.

any ideas?

(in case any of you looking at this are CRNA's and have possible openings in your area, we are looking at CO, eastern WY, SD, NE, IA, MO, southern MI, IN, OH........and prefer smaller town setting

THANKS!

Network! Try to talk to your classmates that graduated before you, talk to your PD/APD, CRNA faculty, go to a conference if you can/have time, get on other CRNA websites, look on AANA.com, and last ditch effort is to go through a staffing agency.

I think you meant your state AANA chapter and not "ANA".

Yes, aana is what I meant to say, Thx.

What r the cons to a staffing agency?

Staffing agencies are usually for hard to fill jobs, and they are fee for placement services (usually a percentage of the total salary) so the total salary is probably going to be lower than if you found it on your own.
