Seminole State College (SSC)/UCF or Valencia College/UCF concurrent Spring 2018

Hello everyone,

I'm interested in the nursing programs at Seminole and Valencia. I'm hoping I get accepted into Seminole, but I plan on applying to other schools just in case. I've received an AA, and all I need is to take the TEAS. I'm so nervous for the test, and I've heard all kinds of things whether good or bad. I wanted to take it this week, but my practice scores aren't high enough. My weak spots are math and grammar, which is weird.. maybe I'm overthinking grammar. I'm so excited about nursing & I cannot wait to be accepted into the program! I know its alot Anyway feel free to respond :)

Overall GPA: 3.3

Science prereq: 3.0

Nursing Prereq: 3.6

TEAS: In progress

Which program is your first choice? What are your stats? Are you applying to other schools, if so which one?

I have decided to apply for the SCC/UCF summer '18 program after dealing with health oriented issues and etc.

After using my second grade forgiveness (regrettably) I should have a 3.4 cumulative, 3.25 science pre req, and 3.8 other.

My TEAS V is an 86.7 but I think I'll have to take the TEAS VI to apply because the application window is in early 2018, which is stressful :(.

I have talked to advisers about my struggles, and while I think my health issues have helped me grow as a person and the lessons learned have ultimately become an asset, the adviser I spoke with last discouraged me from even applying to UCF nursing programs. I am determined however, and will retake classes and continue to apply, but its nice to know that there are others out here with similar stats that are confident and (hopefully) successful. Please update me when you know whether or not you have been accepted, and best of luck! I'm cheering for you!

Hi there, thank you for your response!

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I know advisors should be honest, but they shouldn't discourage people from applying. I understand your situation, because UCF was my number one choice and I changed my mind. Either way I still haven't taken the TEAS and the UCF application window has passed. Many people who were accepted into UCF had a 4.0 gpa in science. Long story short I'm hoping I get accepted into Seminole's nursing program. After-all Seminole is 6 semesters, while UCF is 5 semesters long. I know two people who have graduated from SSC/UCF's concurrent program, and they've told me good things.

I'm cheering for you also! :)
