I'm trying to understand how to do the math behind figuring out how much diluent to add. Examples I've been given include "prochlorperazine" where it must be diluted to Dilute to a concentration of 1 mg/mL and famotidine where it must be diluted to a concentration: not >4 mg/mL.
I get the predilution dosage correct, but I'm not sure how to figure out how much normal saline (or whatever diluent is being used) to get to a given concentration. I checked dosagehelp.com and they don't seem to have diluent math help.
This is for my oncology class. Where can I find instructions for this type of math?
