securing a better learning experience

Hi everyone

I currently have my ADN and finishing up RN-BSN online. I secured my first job at a nursing home because someone referred me to the hiring department. I have been working as an RN for 5 months, but still applying for the hospital job mainly due to my interest in a CICU or critical care unit. I have emailed a hiring manager on the floor I want to work at with my resume and I have not heard anything in two weeks. Also the nurse working on this floor has passed my resume to the manager but still nothing. I know these things take time.

I am trying to stay positive hoping that something else will come up after I finish my BSN. It has been tough to focus on what is happening as suppose what you want. But I believe in paying my dues and working my way up. Anyone has any advice or their personal experience they would like to share??

Thank you
