SDSU Supplemental Application 2018

Published

Hello! I am worried that I might have messed up on my supplemental application to SDSU's BSN program for this fall 2018. I'm a student at a California Community College. For completed prerequisites I put Microbiology OTHER 987... etc. for all of the science prerequisites. I asked other applicants what they put, and they said they checked off the SDSU courses listed, and didn't check off the OTHER option. I'm stressed since I feel like this could eliminate me from being considered/ qualifying for the program. Any ideas how this could affect me? All of the courses/ prerequisites I took are transferrable, I double checked. I know it's too late to make any changes to my application, but this has been on my mind for some time, and I'm worried this will cost me.

Update: I got accepted into SDSU's Fall 2018 Cohort, so just as a reference for anyone who did/does the same thing as me on their supplemental app, you will be okay. Whenever you are unsure about something in the application process, make sure to call SDSU or the SON, they are there to help you. Looking forward to becoming an Aztec, furthering my education, and becoming the best nurse I can be!! Never give up on your dreams, stay positive, and always put your best foot forward; you will reach that goal!

Hi knightsofRN,

I hope your year in the nursing program has been well so far. I am applying for this upcoming Fall 2020 but if you don't mind me asking, what were your stats when applying? I do have good grades but I'm scared that it might not be enough. Also, what was your scores for TEAS? I'm really anxious about everything.

Hello Nurselhope19,

My stats at the time were:

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

Prerequisite GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 90.0

I took the TEAS 1 time and this score was enough to get me in. I didn't have any health care experience to submit either.

Other transfer students who were accepted with me had similar stats to mine, the only notable variation was our TEAS scores. Stay as positive as you can; your grades are good so I believe that you have a great chance at getting in. SDSU is a wonderful school for nursing, and will challenge even the best of students. Best of luck!! :)

Wow those stats are amazing! Mine feel like they can't even compare. How did you prepare for the TEAS? I have already turned in the application from Cal State apply and have just set up the SDSU portal, my next step is to get my TEAS test in before the January 22 due date.
