Scripps La Jolla (San Diego) - PCU

Hi,

I am about to start my preceptorship at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, San Diego at progressive care unit. I was wondering if any of you is or has worked there. I am curious to know what kind of patients I would have. How should I prepare myself for my preceptorship experience.

Hi gikg,

I completed my senior preceptorship at KP on a PCU floor. I had patients with various comorbidities but mainly patients newly dx with a. fib/flutter, acute stroke, hepatic/renal failure, DKA and HHKS. Good Luck!

Was it an externship that you participated in at Kaiser? I am applying right now and would love to know more about the opportunity, floors available, etc. I also heard that they are paid, is that true?
