I recently took the TEAS exam and scored proficient but I want to know what is the cut off percentage for proficient? What percentage is considered advanced? Is it above 80% for advanced? I scored 72% and I know Proficient is proficient but even if I retake the exam get 75-78% would it still be considered proficient or advanced????
For anybody that would like some insight on the exam: First off, I struggled really bad on the English and usage part which is the last portion of the exam and it was my lowest score. The English portion contains a lot of subject-verb agreement and pronoun-antecedent agreement (I saw at least 5-6 questions my exam). For the A&P section I cannot stress this enough you must know the functions of the organ systems the whole science section was basically A&P. My test had a lot of questions on the reproductive and urinary systems. The questions were very similar to the study guides and ATI manuals. (Ex: Which of the following connects the uterus to the lady parts? Which of the following is a product of ammonia and breaks down nutrients? Which of the following organs is bile stored?) All three of these came from my test and I even saw a couple of the questions from the study guide. This the type of format for most of the science questions.
For the reading section, I can say that I liked how they put the paragraphs on the same page as the questions and the fact that they started the beginning of the reading section with large paragraphs because it saved a little time in the end for smaller reading passages.
Math section has a built in calculator on the computer screen. Mainly algebra, fractions/percentages, a little bit of conversion.
If you've been studying and taking the practice tests you will do fine. I kind of felt that the practice tests in the study guide were a little harder than the actual test. Other people on this site and in the review section on amazon have said the same thing.
At the end of the exam, you will be provided a progress score report which show each scored section and what you need to work on or re study for next time.
Do your best, do not worry much and put too much stress on yourself. Just continue studying and taking the practice tests. There's also an app called TEAS Mastery: version 6. I just downloaded this so I wasn't able to use this as a study guide but it's really a great app to use.
Good luck!

I got an 86% and fell into the advanced category. I know if you look at "grade explanation" on ATI, it should have a chart you can look at to see which grades fall into which categories :)
Sorry. It's suppose to say 78-90% is considered advanced. My fingers I guess are too fat for my keyboard!
Thanks
Thanks I will do that.
