Undergraduate


Regular Prelicensure BSN

This program starts with general classes, based on science and liberal arts, and progresses into nursing courses throughout the years.

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

  • Submit transcripts from all institutions awarding credit or enrolled
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.90
  • Complete of all BSN prerequisite courses with no grade lower than "C"
  • Prerequisite GPA of at least 2.90 
  • Complete the TEAS version V or VI within the last five years

Accelerated Prelicensure BSN

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

  • Graduate from a regionally accredited institution with a baccalaureate degree
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate 3.20 GPA
  • Complete of all nursing prerequisite courses with no grade lower than "C"
  • Prerequisite GPA of at least 2.90
  • Complete TEAS version V or VI within the past five years 

Required after Admission – Regular and Accelerated Prelicensure (not all inclusive)

  • Proof of current CPR certificate for adult, child, infant, and 2-person
  • TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Immunizations as required
  • Health report indicating no health condition present that would prohibit providing patient care
  • Background check
  • 12-panel drug screen
  • Seasonal influenza vaccinations while enrolled

RN-BSN Bridge (On Campus)

This program is designed for nurses that already hold a license as an RN and is an on-campus program.

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

  • Active RN license in Florida or NCLEX-RN appointment proof
  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from nationally accredited nursing program
  • Transcripts from all institutions awarding credit or enrolled
  • Agencies in the community may require proof of negative TB test, current CPR, or other immunization(s) or background information
  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public institution
  • Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.80 
  • Completion of BSN prerequisite courses with no grade lower than "C"

RN-BSN Bridge (Online)

The program is designed for nurses that already hold a license as an RN. This program is only conducted online.

Post-MSN Doctor of Nursing Practice (Generic)

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

  • MSN from regionally accredited institution and program accredited by the CCNE or ACEN
  • Certification in one of the following roles:  NE-BC, NEA-BC, CNM, CNS, CRNA, or NP
  • Minimum graduate GPA 3.30
  • Current licensure as RN or APRN in candidate's state of practice
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of reference
  • Agencies in the community may require proof of negative TB test, current CPR, or other immunization(s) or background information

Psych-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner DNP

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive) 

  • MSN from regionally accredited institution and program accredited by the CCNE or ACEN
  • Active national certification as an NP
  • Minimum graduate GPA 3.30
  • Current licensure as an RN or APRN in the candidate's state of practice 
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of reference
  • Agencies in the community may require proof of negative TB test, current CPR, or other immunization(s) or background information

BSN-DNP Family Nurse Practitioner

The BSN-DNP program is for nurses that have graduated from a BSN regionally accredited program and would like to go on to become a Nurse Practitioner, focusing on the family.

Admission (not all inclusive)

  • BSN from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum 3/0 GPA from undergraduate nursing major
  • Entrance exam scores within the last five (5) years; applicants with a previous graduate-level degree from a regionally accredited institution will not be required to submit test scores 
  • One-year experience as an RN in a clinical setting
  • Detailed description of RN experience
  • Letter of Intent
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in FL; out-of-state applicants will need to obtain FL licensure upon admission
  • Undergraduate Health Assessment, Statistics, & Research courses with a grade of "B" or better
  • Two letters of recommendation

BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia

Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

  • BSN from regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA from undergraduate nursing major
  • GRE test scores within the last five (5) years
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in critical care setting
  • Personal statement
  • Current licensure as a RN; out-of-state applicants will need to obtain FL licensure
  • Undergraduate Health Assessment, Statistics, and Research courses with a grade of "B" or better
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Applicants meeting minimum admission requirements may be invited for an interview

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited the nursing programs.

The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) accredited the Nurse Anesthesia Program.

The Florida Board of Nursing approved the UNF School of Nursing programs.
