The University of North Carolina Pembroke is a public university in Pembroke, North Carolina, and a master's degree-granting institution within the University of North Carolina system. The campus is located just north of Pembroke, behind N.C. Highway 711, and is minutes away from Interstates 74 and 95. Hands-On Learning Experience 

The triple goal of the McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing is to support professional nurses' social, intellectual, and cultural development in North Carolina and across the country via community service, research, and teaching. In line with professional nursing practice norms, students enrolled in UNCP's nursing programs receive a multicultural education with a foundation in the humanities, sciences, and arts. Nursing education prepares students for career success, lifelong learning, and community service.

Mode of Learning

  • Pre-licensure BSN: On-campus, four-year program.
  • MSN: Online program for RNs with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • RN-MSN Pathway: Online with some on-campus classes for ADN RNs.

NCLEX Pass Rates

The UNC Pembroke Nursing Programme obtained an astounding 96% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX in 2023. This achievement is a testament to the program's excellence in nursing education and its commitment to providing students with the best possible preparation for their professional licensure tests.
