    In 1955, Molloy College, a private, non-profit, independent Catholic institution, was founded by the Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Cross Amityville.

    Undergraduate


    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

    Students gain experience in a variety of clinical settings including pediatrics, critical care, obstetrics, and psychiatry. Beginning sophomore year, students begin clinical experiences and end with a one-on-one practicum placement in the senior year.

    Dual Degree/Second Degree

    This program is designed for students that hold non-nursing bachelor degrees and are looking for an accelerated program of study. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the RN-NCLEX examination and be eligible for state RN licensure.

    Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

    • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
    • Undergraduate GPA of 3.3
    • Satisfactory completion of the math proficiency requirement
    • Nelson Denny score of 14 or ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Exam of 92.5%
    • Personal interview may be necessary

    RN to BSN

    This program is specifically designed for Registered Nurses who hold an associate degree or diploma in nursing.

    Admission Requirements (not all inclusive)

    • Graduate of an NLN accredited Associate Degree Nursing program or accredited Diploma in Nursing
    • Current license in NY State as an RN or eligible to sit for the next NCLEX-RN exam
    • Cumulative index of 2.7 for Associate Degree work with a grade of "C+" or better

    LPN-BSN Mobility Program

    Articulation Agreements

    The School of Nursing has articulation agreements with the Departments of Nursing at Nassau Community College, Queensborough Community College, the State University of New York at Farmingdale, and Delhi College. Graduates of these programs, with a cumulative index of 2.5 and a grade of "C" or better in nursing, are accepted.

    The program recognizes prior LPN clinical experience and provides advanced standing opportunities through credit equivalency.

    After successfully completing the program students are eligible to sit for the RN-NCLEX examination and become eligible for state RN licensure.

    • Completed application and interview
    • Current New York State LPN license
    • Cumulative index of 3.0 and/or a program average of >83.0 from an accredited program
    • Current LPN malpractice insurance
    • Satisfactory completion of the math proficiency requirement
    • Minimal score of 480 on the SAT Critical Reading Test, a 12th grade-level on the Nelson Denny Test or completion of ENG 101 with a minimum grade of "C"

    All Student Admission (not all inclusive)

    • Complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Exam during NUR 129
    • CPR for professional rescuers
    • Background check
    • Physical examination with immunizations, boosters and antibody titers
    • Liability Insurance under a group plan sponsored by Molloy prior to clinical rotations

    This program offers convenient evening courses delivered in both hybrid (online and classroom) and traditional (classroom only) formats.

    Alternative Admission Pathway to Master’s

    The Alternative Admission Pathway to Master’s program offers an opportunity to a master’s degree program for registered nurses that hold a non-nursing baccalaureate degree. After completing the Bridge course (NUR 471) with a minimum grade of "B" and by meeting the following criteria, the applicant is then eligible for admission into the graduate program.

    • Non-nursing baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university
    • Current malpractice insurance
    • NUR 471 minimum grade of "B"
    • Undergraduate 3.0 GPA
    • Current New York State RN license registration certificate
    • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience
    • Three letters of recommendation
    • Personal interview
    • Undergraduate statistics
    • Undergraduate (nursing) research

    Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

    Admission (not all inclusive)

    • BSN and/or MSN (or equivalent) from accredited programs
    • Minimum GPA of 3.5 from MSN program
    • GRE official results
    • Complete official transcripts from all college programs and courses
    • Current RN license in U.S and eligible for New York State licensure
    • Statement of career goals and proposed area of research
    • Three letters of reference
    • Current curriculum vitae or professional resume
    • Master’s-level statistics course within last 5 years
    • Copy of a recent scholarly paper, research report or publication
    • Interview with the Associate Dean and Director of the Doctoral program and faculty of the Doctoral program
    • Concurrent on-site brief writing sample evaluated by designated PhD admission committee

    Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

    Admissions Criteria (not all inclusive)

    • Master’s degree from Adult Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist program
    • State and national certification as an ANP, FNP, PNP, NPP or CNS
    • Undergraduate GPA 3.5 and overall minimum graduate GPA of 3.5
    • Current New York State Registration as an RN
    • Current New York State Registration as an NP
    • Current National Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
    • One-year recent clinical nursing experience
    • Three letters of recommendation
    • Current curriculum vitae or professional resume
    • Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework
    • Written essay
    • Health and professional requirements as determined by the nursing program
    • Interview with Associate Dean and Director of DNP program and Faculty of the DNP program
    • Concurrent on-site brief writing sample evaluated by the designated DNP admission committee

    Accreditation

    The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) granted accreditation of the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

    The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools accredited Molloy College.
