Cal State Fullerton was founded in 1957. The mission of the SON (School of Nursing) program is to educate and transform nurses to practice in dynamic healthcare environments with diverse populations.

Learning Through Simulation

Cal State Fullerton strives to offer an innovative approach through simulation that creates an environment for patient-safe interventions, team collaboration, communication, and reflective practice. 

Inside the SIM Center

  • Adult Medical Surgical: Two rooms set up as Adult Medical Surgical simulation rooms inside the clinical environment.
  • Skills Lab: This lab is arranged like a hospital ward, complete with multiple beds and patients. The patients here are medium-fidelity simulators. 
  • Exam Room: Replicated as an outpatient "office" exam room where students can refine skills such as conducting health assessment and various specialized examinations.

  • Institutional Accreditation: California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  • SON Program Accreditation: The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree program in nursing at California State University, Fullerton is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). 
  • SON Program Approval: Prelicensure pathway programs and Women's Health NP/Nurse Midwifery concentrations are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) as required for certification and licensure.
