The Leo Krziza and Esther Krziza-Condry Health Education Scholarship Fund, administered through the Ascension Borgess-Lee Foundation, is available to provide scholarships and financial assistance to individuals pursuing careers in the field of healthcare from the Cass, Berrien, Van Buren, and St. Joseph counties (Michigan) area.

Eligibility

The primary focus will be given to those individuals seeking careers in nursing, radiological technology, laboratory technology, pharmacy, health information technology, respiratory therapy, and other related fields.

  • U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.
  • Priority is given to residents of Cass County.
  • Letter of acceptance to accredited college and targeted health care program.
  • High School: Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
  • College: Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.50 throughout
  • college.
  • Maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Payment of Scholarships

All required documentation must be received by the Lee Memorial Foundation from the award recipient by September 1st of the year awarded. Upon demonstration of continued eligibility, payments from the fund will be authorized and made through the Lee Memorial Foundation directly to the candidate’s institution of higher learning. 

Scholarship amounts range from $250 to $2,500. These are one-year scholarships, which can be renewed upon application. Applications for the Healthcare Education Fund must be received by March 1 each year.

Obligation

Students who accept a Healthcare Education Scholarship, but do not complete their college term, will be required to repay the amount awarded to the Lee Memorial Foundation.
