This scholarship was created in memory of Dr. Laura Jean Armstrong, a nurse extraordinaire. Beginning her professional career as a registered nurse in private practice, Dr. Armstrong joined the Hawaii State Department of Health in 1968.

Requirements (not all-inclusive)

  • Resident of the State of Hawaii
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Attend an accredited, two or four year, non-profit institution within the US (including US territories)
  • Attend as a full-time student
  • Graduate student
  • Majoring in Nursing or Public Health
  • Minimum 2.7 GPA
