Dr. Hans Zimmerman established this foundation to provide financial assistance to individuals in Hawaii wishing to pursue an education in a health field. During his long and productive career in Hawaii, Dr. Zimmerman encouraged countless individuals to choose careers in medicine.

Requirements (not all-inclusive)

  • Major in Education with emphasis on classroom teaching
  • Two letters of recommendation are required
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA 2.8
  • Preference given to applicants with two or more years of classroom teaching experience and who are returning to school
  • Preference given to Non-Traditional students
  • Preference given to native Hawaiians
  • Preference for prior year recipients

  • Average: $2,000
  • Minimum: $500
