Scholarships and cost of school

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Hi everyone- I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any scholarships specific to nursing or any other good info about scholarships or grants? I am starting nursing school and I do not want to have to take out a student loan, at least not a big one. Also- I was wondering... does $18,000 a year seem high for RN training? I am very new at all of this and need some answers. Thanks to all in advance!

One possibility that some of my classmates took advantage of was to sign on to work at a local hospital once they graduate. I think they got a total of $15,000 if they committed to 3 years. You have to be careful about who you are agreeing to work for, but it did help them pay the bills. You could talk to Human Resources at hospitals in your area and see if they offer anything like that. This was a hospital in Virginia.
