I've been pondering the idea of taking an accelerated RN program at the local community college, I know I need to get more information from them, but I am scared out of my mind that I won't be able to DO everything. I live alone, support myself, pay my mortgage, work M-F about 7:30 to 4:30 at a clinic.. how can I possibly add college to this? I'm afraid I'll have to quit my job, but if I quit my job, I can't pay my bills, can't pay my bills, can't go to school.. I know I'm not the only one who ever had to deal with this, any insight?

Blynn,
Is the program online or onsite or a mixture of the two? When you say excelerated, how many months are you talking about? How long has it been since you were in school? These are all things to consider when taking on working fulltime and going to school fulltime. But don't be discouraged, success is made up of about 10% talent and 90% perseverance, so if this is something you have determined in your mind that you want to do, it can be done. I just completed the first year of an ASN program and sat the LPN boards while working fulltime (M-F, 8-5) and taking care of my family. It has not been easy, but I have learned alot about myself and what I can accomplish when I set my mind to something. I will be finishing my ASN this year, start back to studying in March and I know that I can do it because it is what I want to do.
Hope this is helpful!

Go on-line and Google nurses scolorships, loans, grants, and start writing up those applications. Folk say that there is money out there. Go for what you want.
