SBCC Spring 2022 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello! I just received my offer of acceptance from Santa Barbara City College for the Spring 2022 cohort.

I am beyond thrilled since I'm from Ventura but have been living in Northern CA for 7 years. I was hoping to get in touch with other students from the cohort. Anyone else going?

Hi! I received my offer as well. Have they emailed you the date for the mandatory orientation meeting?

Hi! I haven’t heard about the orientation meeting yet. Do you live in the area?

Hi Lily and Catelyn! I was accepted as well for Spring 2022 and I’m so excited to start! I’m from the area and haven’t received an email about orientation yet. Congrats to you both!!

Hi Katie! I’m so excited! Do you have any tips for finding living situations in the SB area? Trying not to commute from Ventura but it’s pretty pricey there.

Hi Lily, Housing in SB has always been a struggle:/ I have some friends who used a couple of facebook groups and found some decent housing. I think the groups are called "Santa Barbara | Apt | House Rentals" and "HOUSING Santa Barbara CA For Rent & For Sale". Also, craigslist and Zillow as well I've heard a lot of people find successful housing situations. It's so hard though, especially with how pricey everything is. A couple of people at my work commute from Ventura/ Oxnard area and the traffic is definitely an issue, but it's doable and significantly cheaper. Depending on when lecture and clinical are, it might work out where the time frame you're commuting back and forth won't be super traffic-heavy and that option would work.

Katie thank you SO much! That is super helpful!! ?

Hello ?? I have a question for those of you that ended up starting the program, how is it so far? I got accepted to start Fall 2023, I don't know anyone personally who has attended SBCC so I wanted to come on here to see what you guys think about the program??
