Savannah Memorial - Job satisfaction?

Published

Hey all,

First post (I think). I'm being recruited by Savannah Memorial Hospital for their cardiac step down (PCU - every hospital/region calls it something different). I wanted to know if I could get some feedback from nurses who work there. It'd be a big relocation for me, but Savannah is where I'd like to be. I want to start taking art classes at SCAD part-time while working.

I used to be a travel RN for about 5 years, and I know that no matter what the situation looks like or how it's described by the manager or recruiter, being there is something totally different. If it was a travel assignment, I could just grit my teeth for three months and move on, but a permanent placement relocation is so different, so I want to be extra careful.

Also, where are good areas to live near the hospital (no highway driving required to get there)?

Any assistance or advice would be very appreciated.

Any comments from people that work at Savannah Memorial would be appreciated, not just the Stepdown or PCU units.

Thanks.
