Talked with a school advisor today and since I have been out of school for so long I will need a placement test. She offered that I could take ths SAT, the Accuplacer or just take some college entry courses.
Wondering which way should I go? If i take the entry classes this may prolong the graduation date I had in mind of 2016.
Thanks for any opinions

The SAT is more of a high school graduate type test. I assume any adult could probably take it if they want to attend a college that requires the score. But, for just regular college entry, just take the accuplacer. It just gauges your knowledge base to see what minimum class you need to take in English and Math, and will tel if you are reading comprehension class exempt or not. The SAT is much harder than the Accuplacer and usually more expensive.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are likely to not graduate in 2016 anyway. You will have minimum of a year of pre reqs. That puts you into the end of 2014 minimum before you finish pre reqs, which means you would be applying in Spring 2015 for start in Fall 2015, and graduation in Spring 2017. The only way around this is with a private school (more $$$), or with a school with minimum pre reqs, but then you will be doing gen ed classes along side your nursing core classes.

Just take the accuplacer test. I took it and it was no big deal. I was a little behind in my math and I am catching up now. The SAT to me is a waste of time and money at this age. And the accuplacer doesn't take nearly as long as the SAT.
Thank you for the replies. I was hoping to start in Jan, but my plans have been derailed. I put in my resignation in on Oct 4th for leaving Nov 8th. I was let go on the 11th. Now after paying my bills I'm running out of money to pay for my move up north. Unless a miracle happens.
