Has anyone ever been accepted to Samuel Merritt's ABSN program with a science GPA less than a 3.0?? What exactly are the classes that are included in this GPA? Is it just Chem, Micro, Physio, and Anatomy? Or are Pharm and Patho also included?? Any and all information/stories of acceptance would be great!! Thank you in advance for all the help. I'm applying to nursing programs soon and I am getting nervous! =/

I'm pretty sure that they take the last 60 units, so that pretty much includes virtually all of the pre-reqs that they ask for (including the ones you mentioned) and another semester or two beyond. I can tell you that we were told that the incoming GPA's were 'very high' because of the large number of applicants in the economic downturn.
Don't let the sheer numbers get you down..... If you have some other stuff going for you as far as volunteer work, letters of rec, or other work experience then I would encourage you to apply anyways....even if you think it's a "reach". I'm in the program...and VERY, VERY pleased.....

Hey hopeful, there are two different GPAs that admissions looks at: the last 60 units (if they are semeseter, or 90 units if they are from a school on the quarter system) of overall classes you've taken, and the 4 lab sciences they require: chem, anatomy, phsyiology, and micro. The application states you need a minimum 3.0 in both your science prereqs and overall last 60/90, so I do not think they will even look at your application if you do not have at least a 3.0 in both of these categories. That being said, if you have a lot going for you such as extracurriculars and healthcare experience, I think you have a good chance getting in even if you just barely meet that 3.0 cutoff. But you do need at least the 3.0 in both those categories.
