Nursing Students School Programs

Hello! Anyone out there going to Salisbury University's ABSN starting fall 2020?

I submitted my intent form a few weeks ago and thought I'd start a thread so we can all start to get to know one another. ?

@Madisoncc hey! I’m not applying this year but I’m applying next year 2021. By any chance, did you mind telling me how you got accepted? I’m applying for the accelerated BSN program there. Thanks ?

Hi, of course! Sorry its taken me sometime to get back to you. I was a Public Health major with a Social Welfare minor at a small school in upstate New York. I am originally from Ocean City, MD so I am an instate student (not sure if this makes a difference or not). I submitted my application on December 6th and found out I was accepted on Feb 26th. I had my advisor/professor/boss write me one recommendation and another professor write me another. Both were nurses (more specifically midwives) and are now working in the Public Health field. My grades in the pre-req courses were average, but I had loads of experience, however, they weren't directly in nursing or healthcare. Some of my experience included being president of Public Health Club at my university, interning at a community health department, teaching health education at a community center (working with low income children) and a few others. (I'd be happy to elaborate through email/DM so this message isn't super long). Let me know if you have any more specific questions and I'd be happy to answer them!!

Yes! I would love that. Can we exchange email contact. Apparently I can’t send you a private message. @Madisoncc
