Sacramento City College LVN 2021

Any one else anxious for them to send out the emails of our status ?

OMG definitely, I check everyday even though I know it says it will take 8 weeks, I hope it will take less than 8 weeks, like I have seen in previous year forums  but I think it will take the full time....I am like obsessing, I really want to get in! Its just hard to stay positive when they said that like 600 people  apply each year and this year only 20 get in for Fall and 20 for Spring and 10 alternants.. My chances are slim....its my first time applying what about everyone else?

Yes the chances are soo small! This is actually my third year applying. IDK what I will do if I don't get in once again. Good luck to everyone !

I think that 3rd will be the charm! I am not ready for disappointment, I feel so desperate to get this opportunity.I just want to be a nurse!  Did you have to wait the full 8 weeks for the results?

I just received my denial letter today. I am crushed beyond words. The letter just stated that I was not selected as part of the randomized selection process. I am re-considering Unitek now, the price tag scared me but what choice is there now? I am getting older and I can't just keep reapplying year after year, but potential student loans into my retirement years? yikes!  I applied for two LVN programs this time and was denied by both (one lottery, and one that isn't lottery and is out of the area). Honestly, I really thought my chances of getting in to one or the other would be good. I am a graduate of SCC, with a 4.0, work at a local hospital, etc. - as we all probably think about our own chances - but nope. I sure wish I had done this when I was younger, nursing programs were a "dime a dozen" back then, but I was busy being a single mom and thought to myself "I'll pursue my dream later" (lesson here is don't put off your dreams). My son now has his master's degree from a university, now is pursuing a law degree, but I can't even get into a LVN program at a community college with a 4.0 and 12 years experience. Congratulations to those who got in! For those that didn't, don't give up!
