Sac city Nursing Statistics

How competitive is this program? I know ARC post their result every semester 260-380 applicants, what about Sac City? Just curious to know what I'm getting into there...Im applying for the first time at ARC

Sac City is very similar to ARC. Their application process is a little different, but in terms of numbers of applicants, seats available, etc... very similar to ARC. In other other words, it's competitive-ish. While you're "competing" against other students, you're really competing against yourself. You need to be certain you meet the minimum points (at the very least) to be placed in the random selection pool. This means you're a "qualified applicant." Once you're in the pool, you have an equal chance of being chosen as any other student. They have set the scores in such a way that qualified applicants have a very good chance of passing the course and passing the NCLEX. Trust me in that they closely track their student's progress and every student, whether successful or not, helps them fine-tune their requirements for entry to the program.

Thanks for your response I really appreciate it...the only thing about the sac city lottery that throws me off is when their PowerPoint info says" higher GPA and TEAS increases your odds of being selected into the program ". How is that possible if it's lottery...i heard before that there's such thing of more tickets in the lottery with your name...this true?

It is possible that they attach a TEAS and GPA "weight" to your name once you're in the lottery but I am not 100% certain of this. It's been a few years since I graduated and they were starting the process of changing to a different application process. When I was a student there, they did attach a "weight" that was linked to number of applications you have consecutively turned in so eventually a persistent qualified applicant would be chosen. My understanding is that they no longer do this.
