has anyone ever been in a facillity where the manager and ward clerk sit in on shift report if so how di this appear to work for the wellbeing of the patient?. What have people seen as the general job description of a wardclerk? how does shift report look?

I have worked in some small rural hospitals. And, yes some things are done a little differently. But one thing I have learned about little country hospitals. They are far less concerned with "appearances" I have also seen a far greater amount of team work from everyone in the hospital when needed. I have even seen the hospital administrator, passing out water, and food trays and emptying the trash. If it was needed. It can be a totally different ball game. In those small hospitals in the country. But thoroughly enjoyable.

I worked on a unit once where all the nurses, the charge nurse and the aides sat in on report. It was helpful to have everyone know what was going on with each patient. The downsides were that report took longer and there were less people on the floor to answer call lights during this time.
