Hey, I am wanting to become a Practical Nurse. I currently live in Ontario but was thinking of applying to schools in Alberta as well (In Ontario, Practical Nurses are RPN's whereas in Alberta they are called LPNs). I was told you still learn the same stuff though. I am just wondering if anyone else has done this? Or if they know if there really is much of a difference between the two.
My biggest concern would be if I went to school in Alberta but then after school wanted to move back to Ontario- if it would be harder to get a job? Or if I decided later on I wanted to go back to school to become an RN- all the bridging programs in Ontario only accept RPNs, not LPNs so I would have to take the full 4 years instead of 3 or have to do the schooling in Alberta.
Any advice would be appreciated! :) Thanks!
