Hey everyone, I am very interested in joining the lpn program at Robert Morgan Educational Center in Miami-Dade. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the program. I know its 14 months but does anyone remember about how much it was and if they only offer day time classes or can i get them at night too. Any information will be very helpful. Thank you so much.

Dani, I actually just started the LPN program at Robert Morgan on August 24. The program is 14 months and they do offer day and evening classes. The day classes are from 8:00am - 2:45pm and the evening hours I am not sure about, but believe they are from 3:00pm - 9:30pm. The program average costs is about $5000-$6000. The tuition costs the $5000 and the books and uniforms add the extra $1000. The work so far we have encountered is doable....it can get a little complicated at times, but if you do want to do nursing, you know that it is not easy. I just finished completing my third week and we have had either a test or a quiz everyday, so be prepared to study all the time! :wink2:
I decided to go to Robert Morgan because I read many great things about the school and I have a couple of friend that attended and they highly recommend it. It is a great school from what I see as far. The teachers are quite knowledgeable and they truly want everyone to pass. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I did just start the program, but I will try my best to answer any questions that you may have.

Hi, I'm currently at a university taking pre-reqs for the nursing school.
Well... I'm getting cold feet. The RN BSN program is very difficult and about 2 years and a half.. and in the end I don't know if I want or can deal with the responsibility of being an RN. So I was thinking I should first become an LPN, get experience and see if I like being a nurse, since the LPN programs are short and it'll be less money.
I'm only 19 though, turning 20 in july. Are there any young students in robert morgan?
I have some other questions:
Do you do clinicals? Where at?
Do you like it so far and would you recommend robert morgan over the miami dade college LPN program?
Thank you so much :) I know that was a lot of questions, i'm just so stressed out, confused, anxious!
well, there are a few young students in my class...the youngest being 19 years old. i admire her for knowing where she wanted to be from early. and we have a few 20 and 21 year olds too. but the majority of the class is older... i would say average age is about 30. we do clinicals at nursing homes throughout the area. we will also have clinicals at jackson south hospital when we get to OB and pediatrics!
i dont know much about MDC LPN program, but i do know that robert morgan does have a good strong program with great teachers. it can be difficult at times, but there is always support when you need it. i have been in the program for 6 months and it seems like time is just flying by. there are a few students in the program that did try to get into MDC RN program and did not get accepted, so they decided to take a different route. in my opinion, i like the fact that i will get the experience of being an LPN before I take on the responsibility of an RN (even though the tasks performed are almost the same thing). it can be very challenging, i mean nursing is no joke.
let me know if you have any more questions...i am here to help!:)

Thank you for the information :) I'm definitely considering Robert Morgan, it sounds like a great program.
I'm only 19, and I'm so glad I decided at an early age what to be. Yet I'm still scared of being an RN.. that can't be good >.
Yet I'm still working towards the RN program, and at the same time I apply for RN school i'll apply for Robert morgan or another LPN program.. then I'll have a big decision to make. Is it normal to be scared? I mean we are dealing with people's health.. but if LPNs do most of the same tasks that RNs do, and I know they do, I think i should still go for RN either way. Any advice?
THank you for your reply :)

Hi how do I apply for the Robert morgan program?
