RNS with former probationary license becoming nurse practitioners

Published

Hey all. I am a new member but have used this site in the past for to find important information. It seems like a great community. I wanted to make a post about nurses who have had probationary licenses becoming nurse practitioners. I am in the last month of my peer assistance drug montitoring program that has been three years long. I have applied to maryville university for the pmhnp program ( one of my coworkers just completed her NP there and had good things to say about it) and I will not be accepted until my license turns back to unencumbered. My question is will my license say unencumbered after I complete the peer assistance drug monitoring program? I have heard it will but wanted to make sure. Also has anyone with a previous probationary license as an RN had trouble receiving their NP license after finishing school. Any information would be much appreciated. Also any other hurdles you can think of in becoming a nurse practitioner after completing a probationary program as an RN?

You may have difficulty obtaining your dea license. You will also have to disclose when seeking hospital privileges.
