RNC - nurses who took and feel they failed

Published

:uhoh3: A bunch of nurses I work with took the exam this past summer. They all feel that they failed and are still awaiting confirmation since it was taken on paper. They have told me it was AWFUL! That does not make me feel any better about taking the test. Many studies and said it did not matter because it did not help them. A lot of negativity from the group who took the test. Guess that is why I am taking mine on the computer and decided NOT to take it in a room full of co-workers.

I think everyone that takes a board exam, or the certification exam thinks they failed. It is a hard test, no question about it. Doesn't mean you failed. I was sure that I didn't do well, but passed and did very well actually. Multiple choice tests are tests of stamina and recognition. It is a long test and by the end, you are whipped. So, though your co-workers feel they haven't done well, it may be opposite when the results come in.

Just do your best taking the test. Breathe and just do it.

I am glad to see there are some taking the exam. I think it is important as professionals in the OB realm to have this certification.

GOOD LUCK to you.

Congrats on taking that next step towards RNC! I, myself, just passed the RNC exam for neonatal nursing and the things that helped me was the comprehensive review course offered by NICUsolutions and my overall experience in the NICU. Keep your hopes up...I'm sure you did well.
