RN Refresher course Baptist Heath

HI-anyone have any reviews of the refresher course at Baptist Health? I live in NWA and also would need a site for clinical hours. Any ideas?

I don't have a review yet. I started it today.

I will be doing my clinicals in a local nursing home. (Central AR) I would suggest trying nursing homes, networking with previous employers and/or coworkers, just going and asking.

I too am looking into taking this program and would like to hear any advice or recommendation on how to successfully pass the theoretical component of RN refresher program.

Little anxious on the thought that you can be dismissed from the program after two failed attempts on any learning module.

Also,. what is a written portion testing of the final like?

I took the course 3 years ago, not sure what has changed since then. I didn’t think it was too difficult. If you read the chapters and do the practice tests at the end, you will be fine. (The review quizzes were much harder than the module tests, in my opinion.) I had all the chapters “bookmarked” so I could look something up quickly if needed. (You have an hour to complete each module test if I recall) You’ll be fine on the final if you do ok with the modules. It really wasn’t that bad. I know when I took it, a different nurse has just taken over the program. Hopefully she made some changes as it seemed it could use some updating. Let me know if you have other questions! Good luck!

Did u have to do any written test for u final examination based on the modules? Or was it all multiple choice questions?

It’s all multiple choice. 100 questions if I remember right. I think you need 80 to pass. Do you have a clinical place lined up? That was challenging finding a place. I did mine at the VA in Fayetteville.

No clinical placement yet but they recommended VA in Fayetteville as an option that I am thinking to consider.

Did u do it at Fayetteville or Little Rock VA? If so how was it?
