Hi everyone —
I'm working in an ambulatory pediatric specialty clinic and we're exploring an RN-led initial visit focused on program orientation, education, goal setting, and care coordination (no medical decision-making or diagnosis).
I'm curious if anyone works in a setting where RNs:
Conduct the first visit before a provider
Focus on education/orientation rather than E/M care
Use a distinct visit type or template
If so, I'd love to hear:
How the visit is structured
How documentation is handled
Any lessons learned or pitfalls
Thanks in advance — really appreciate frontline perspectives.
