Hi
I know that this question has been asked many times before, but I have never been so confused in my life and would love any and all advice. I am a sophomore in college and have just been accepted to my colleges Alternate Sequence BSN program- I would graduate on time with my BSN. I would then work for a few years before applying to become a PNP or NNP, still undecided. SO I would have the roughly $60,000 of debt from that program.
I am also really thinking of going to medical school and declining my spot in the nursing program. I would LOVE to be a pediatrician, but do not know if it is worth the four years of schooling, $200,000 of debt, the possibility of not getting into med school, and the 3 year residency.
My end goal is to have a job that I love and feel respected in, while also having time for my family. I would love to work part time when my kids are young as well.
NPs, do you feel satisfied and respected in your career? If you are a PNP, do you feel that moms still trust you with their children? I am trying to decide what I will regret more- never facing my fears and attending medical school, or wasting 8 years of my life and money to be able to do basically the same stuff as a PNP.
PLEASE HELP with any advice:) Thank you so much.
