Hi all! I am currently a CNA student and for an assignment, I was asked to interview nurses about their careers. So, I was wondering if any of you could please answer all of or even just a few of these questions for me it would really help me out. Thank you so much! :)

  1. What are some cons of being an RN?
  2. What are some pros of being an RN?
  3. Are you happy with your career decision or do you regret it?
  4. How long have you been an RN and where have you worked?
  5. Are you a specialized in any specific area? If not, do you want to be?
  6. What made you decide to become an RN?
  7. What type of setting do you prefer to work in? (i.e. Hospital, Doctor's Office, Hospice, Psychiatric Hospital etc...)
  8. Do you deal with combative patients or family members a lot? If so, how do you usually deal with them without losing your cool?
  9. Do you ever feel unappreciated and/or underpaid at work? If so, by whom?
  10. What is your least favorite task and most favorite task and why? Or, what task do you feel the most skilled or least skilled at?
  11. Have you ever been injured on the job (such as a back injury or needle-stick injury)? If so, why and how did it happen?
  12. Have you ever been in an extremely dangerous situation or have you ever made a mistake while on the job? If so, please explain what happened and how it was handled?
  13. Which college did you attend and what degree did you receive to become an RN?
  14. What is one of your favorite memories of being an RN? What is one of your worst memories?
  15. Were you nervous or scared when you started your first job as an RN? If so, please explain why. (side note: I am nervous about starting my job as a CNA because of the patients.)
  16. Have you ever seen a health care worker of any kind abuse a patient?
  17. How do you feel about how nurses are portrayed in the media on shows like Nurse Jackie, HawthoRNe, Grey's Anatomy and House?
