RN jobs in Sarasota

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi, I am a new graduate. I recently took and passed my NCLEX in February. I moved to Sarasota, Florida about a week ago from IN and have put in a lot of applications so far and nobody is calling me. I've been focusing on Doctors of Sarasota, Blakes Medical Center, SMH, and Manatee Memorial. It says not to call on their websites to inquire about your application. So should I call or not? Is anyone familiar with this area and can give me some advice as to where else to look for jobs? I am willing to work in Venice or Bradenton also just don't really want to go further out than that. I have a years experience as an LPN in a nursing home. I have also tried Dr. offices and nursing homes and they are not hiring either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Deanna

I don't live in Sarasota, but my mom does... unfortunately you are trying to get a job sort of at the tail end of the busy season. A lot of the "snowbirds" like my mom are heading back north in a month or two, so that could be the reason some of the hospitals aren't hiring, they know the local population is going to decrease in the next few months, so they don't want to orient you just in time for slow season... Not much help for you I know, but try more LTC facilities, home care, etc that have a more permanent patient population.

Good luck!
