RN Idependent Contractors, billing medicaid&medicare`

Published

I am a new Independent Nurse Contractor, does anyone know if I can bill 0524101941-01.jpgmedicare and medicaid in South Carolina. I have read some of the posts her and am still not clear. I am working for a Home Health agency and was wondering if I could just get my own client.

I'm in NC and was wondering the same thing. From what I've read it seems you have to be a home health agency to bill, but I could be wrong. Please keep me posted on what you learn. Thanks.

Hey Spoiled 1, I found out that you are right, in NC we can't bill Medicaid and Medicare independently. However we can bill Medicaid in SC. All you need is your EIN #, NPI # then apply for a provider # from the state Medicaid office. I am waiting for my packet now for my provider # Hopes this helps, mybe if u are in the Charlotte area you can work cross the boarder

Thank you so much for this info. Yes, I am in the Charlotte area. It shouldn't be too hard to work across the border. So basically you have to be a home health agency to bill here?? Did they say? Thanks again! :)

Hello all,

Does anyone know an independent RN-CRNI with an NPI# and an LLC license bill CMS for PICC line insertions? I am running into all kinds of roadblocks. Seems that the state of Fla can not give me a definite answer to this question.... ANY help would be greatly appreciated! :nurse:
