I called them today, and they are REALLY nice on the phone. She told me that it's a 2 yr program (6 semes ters long) and that clinicals will be once per week and they try to get a clinical site as close to you as possible. Since i was going to live in Dayton then Chillicothe was the closest. Anyway, the price is pretty decent approx $10,000 for the 2 yrs IF you needed ALL the gen eds and then of course the nursing classes. All are done online. It's through Holtzer School of Nursing. They have been doing this for the past 5 yrs...much to my surprise...and there are no waiting lists for the online program. you can even apply online for FREE to the school. there is a $65 charge to take the online orientation. She did tell me that last yr they had 120 apply, 60 decided to start and now halfway through they are down to 50. I think that's pretty reasonable since even at a traditional school some people get "weeded" out. I forgot to ask her about the NCLEX pass rate, but i could probably just go on the BON website and check it out (though it will probably include both traditional students as well as online students) so i'm not positive it will be accurate. If i knew i coudl stay in ohio for the next two years i'd jump on it now!!! But i can't since hubby's is in the service...i guess i'll stick to excelsiors program instead!

Thank you............. I called them too and the lady was real nice. My biggest question was clinicals, because i live in NE Ohio. I dont think I want to travel 3.5 hours once a week to chillicothe. I mapquested it, just too far. She did say I could do the tests somewhere in my area though. They should start having clinicals around here, then it would be perfect. I think I am just gonna have to do EC too. The minimal prereqs there was very nice too.
